My Design Philosophy

I haven’t always known I wanted to be a graphic designer, but I have always been creative. My love affair with design happened by accident while studying studio art as an undergraduate. On a whim I decided to take a computer art class – and I was hooked. Graphic design has become my creative outlet and one of my passions. One of my other passions is pattern design, which was born from a need to find more avenues of expression. I want to make a personal contribution to the world and I feel like design is where I can make the most impact.

My Blog

I've recently started a blog as a way to discuss the minutiae of everyday life, which includes all my different artistic endeavors. I hope to eventually use my alter ego "Scottygirl Design" to create my own art and possibly sell it on Etsy or elsewhere.

Current Non-Artistic Passion
  • Long Distance Running - After finishing my first half marathon with Team in Training in June 2009, I was hooked. I just completed the PF Chang's Half Marathon in Phoenix and look forward to completing the San Diego Half Marathon this June. Perhaps I will even complete a full marathon sometime in the
    near future.
